I've been meaning to review this place It's in the back of a bar We were looking for somewhere not too far from the airport as we fly in and out of SFO at times Order drinks from the bar and food from the dude in the back Super cool place for hanging out Seems like a locals place Best thing was the food Well, the dude in the back was pretty nice too Definitely give them a try

The Hidden Spot is definitely a hidden gem in the heart of South San Francisco! The restaurant is technically located within the Hometown Heroes Bar right on Grand Ave. The space itself is pretty small, but deep, and can hold a good amount of people. There is a bar with around a dozen seats. There are three tables across from the bar that can fit four each, and another three tables and additional spots to sit in the back behind the pool table. This is definitely a sports bar vibe, but clean. It's open, well lit, and there is a bunch of cool music-themed art inside. As noted, there is a pool table that is often available, and TV's along the bar and in the back. They have the ability to play different things on different TVs, so it was nice to see some variety when we arrived (baseball, soccer, e-sports). We had asked them to put on the Giants game in the back where we were sitting, and they happily changed it for us. The food is the real reason we came! We had heard about this spot via Yelp, and ordered food for delivery a few times during the pandemic. The food was always good, but never fresh. We finally decided to try it IRL last year to get the full, fresh experience. It was SO good, we had to bring a friend back just recently when we had the opportunity. They feature highly elevated bar food. Think burgers, sandwiches, wings, fries, etc. The Burgers are Wagyu, the sandwiches are THICC, the wings are huge and crispy, and the fries are seasoned. Some of the things we've had: The Sheriff (Burger - Cheddar Cheese, Beer Battered Onion Rings, Grilled Onions, BBQ Sauce, Mayonnaise, $17) - This is a huge and delicious burger! We added bacon, which is the move. The onion rings are crispy and delicious! Super juicy and packed with flavor. Past (Sandwich - Certified Angus Beef Pastrami, Swiss Cheese, Coleslaw, Hidden Sauce, Honey Mustard, MK Sauce, $15) - Got this on Dutch Crunch and loved it! Such a flavorful sandwich with all the sauces! MVP (Wings - Sweet & Spicy Soy Glaze and Topped with Green Onions, 5 for $10 or 10 for $18). These are some of the best wings I've had in a long time. They are huge, meaty, and flavorful. The MVP sauce is one of my favorites, anywhere. I love dipping wings in ranch, but this sauce is so good I usually just eat it straight. Honey Garlic Butter (Wings, Topped with Sesame Seeds) - Another winner. The flavor on these is insanely good, definitely recommend! Beer Battered Onion Rings (SM $8, LG $10) - These are crispy, fresh and delicious. There is a perfect ratio of batter; not too much, and not too onion-y. They pair well dipped in any of their sauces! Seasoned Fries (SM $7, LG $9) - Some of the best seasoned fries I've had. Perfect size, perfect crispiness, and so much flavor in the seasoning. Again, pairs well with any of their sauces! Sauces - There are 12+ house made sauces. They have the basics like ranch, blue cheese, BBQ, buffalo, but also various aiolis, spicy ranch, Hidden Sauce, MK Sauce and more. My only complaint is that the serving is a little small for $1/each; I have to spend $15-$20 just on sides of sauce! Overall we've enjoyed both experiences eating at Hidden Spot in Hometown Heroes. The food is soo good, and definitely tastes better when you eat it fresh, rather than ordering delivery. Thanks to all the hardworking staff, but a special shoutout to Erick who enhanced our experience. He was particularly friendly, helpful, and generally awesome! Already looking forward to my next meal at Hidden Spot! Check the reel on IG: @bbnem.eats

Three years ago, my wife and I found this incredible spot in San Francisco, but because we're clearly memory champions, we totally forgot its name. Fast forward to our recent trip--after a long flight, my wife Yelps for food and lands on "The Hidden Spot." We walk in and, like a plot twist in a sitcom, realize it's the same place we loved years ago. The food? Still ridiculously good. The burger is juicy, with fresh toppings and a bun that's got its life together. The fried chicken sandwich? Crispy, flavorful perfection. So, if you're in San Francisco, don't sleep on The Hidden Spot. And if you forget the name like we did? Don't worry--you'll probably stumble back eventually!

I'm a big fan of chicken wings, and this Honey Garlic Butter Chicken Wing is something else... 10/10, strongly recommended!

This place's food is great, my favorite is the Turkey Charm with an order of tator tots! Its moderately priced, and I would suggest picking up in person (so you can have a drink while you wait). I like the bar too, Hometown Heroes has been a visit spot of mine for a long time and the staff there are great. NOTE: parking is a little challenging, pro tip, you can easily park at the Miller Avenue garage and walk down to the place, again its located IN THE BAR. Also parking on Linden Avenue if you can find an open green or yellow zone spot.

Came here for snacks and drinks before a night out. Definitely a dive bar vibe with people playing pool. My cousins and I sat on the high table. I think it's funny that you order food by the literal kitchen while you order drinks at the bar like normal. The walls were decorated in 2010s swag-era photos. We got a large seasoned fries and ten pieces of wings. For wings, we got spicy buffalo and honey garlic butter. The fries were crispy and tasted good. They were medium-sized. For the wings, they were quite big! I like to eat my wings while wearing gloves so my hands don't get messy; I went to the kitchen to ask for some, and they look a bit amused. The flavors that we got balanced each other out. The sweetness of the honey garlic butter wings was tasty, and the spicy buffalo had a good kick. We washed these down with beers. Overall great food!

Very solid spot to get wings. Got the honey garlic and the MVP wings. Comparison to San Tung are a bit exaggerated IMO but I've been eating San tung wings for a few decades so I'm probably a little biased. Taste wise the wings are fried well. Have a nice crisp and have a good crunch when you bite into them even though they were takeout and didn't get eaten until maybe 20 mins after pickup. Sauce is probably a 3/5 when compared to San tung exact flavor but the MvP wings are solid. Good sweetness with a little spice. Not very spicy for me but it has a little. The honey garlic are good for the non spicy eaters and have a nice salty sweet taste. Service wise I ordered online and came in to pick up. Food was ready when I got there so no issues with the staff. They were taking a few orders and they were friendly and giving recommendations to people who haven't been before. Location wise it is inside hometown heroes bar and at the end of the bar. It's a bar so pretty low light inside for the bar vibe but they had a few bar tops to eat at or you could eat at the bar as well. Didn't visit the bar spot but probably a good place to take in a game, grab a drink and get a bite. Food was cooked well and tasted good. Would be back when craving wings. While not exactly the same as San tung a much easier trek and parking to subside the wing cravings.

The hidden spot is a hidden gem within downtown South City. It's the perfect for a quick but filling meal and is great if you're looking for a casual place to dine. The hottie totties were really good. The tater tots were crispy and warm and the mayo and sriracha added a great flavor. The Ruby could have used more buffalo sauce but it was still great! The mild spiciness was not enough for me so I will be getting a the hotter sauce next time. The Empire was definitely a spicy sandwich from the habanero. The chicken was good and the Dutch crunch was crunchy. There's also a bar and pool table and plenty of seating as a smaller location. I've been here a couple times and it's never too crowded or empty.

I was a bit skeptical about a $20 sandwich, but wow it was delicious. I ordered Strength, which is the only vegetarian sandwich. It comes with artichoke, mushrooms and then I added lettuce, tomato, and pickles. The sandwich is big enough to fill 2 people. The mystery sauce was delicious but also made the sandwich a bit soggy. Highly recommend this "hidden spot" to others
